Saturday, Feb 6 – travelling and afternoon

That’s me at 5 am on Saturday morning, waiting for the subway to take me to the airport. As I feared to miss my flight, I didn’t sleep well – as you can probably see on the photo. But despite being dead tired, I danced along to the songs on my iPod while waiting at the bus station next.

When we took off, it was still dark and the lights of the cities and streets looked so pretty from above. And it was something special to see a sunrise from a plane. The picture isn’t the best, but I couldn’t do better with my small camera and through the window.

At London Luton airport I was waiting for Tina to arrive from Berlin, then we took the bus to our hostel where we met with Gaby and Monika. On the pic above, from left to right, you can see Gaby, Tina and Monika.
The hostel wasn’t the best I’ve stayed in, but it would do for two nights.
In the afternoon, I met with a friend who lives in London and had a good time, the other girls went to the theatre to see Anthony Head in ‘Six degrees of Separation’. They even got a chance to meet him at the stage door and talk to him, I’m a bit jealous.
Concert Saturday, Feb 6

The highlight of this day for me was the concert with James Marsters in the evening. The lighting was really aweful, during most of the concert it was lots of red and yellow, but I still got some nice pictures.
It was the first time for me to see James live in concert and I really enjoyed it, even if it was rather short – a bit less than one hour. Gaby and Monika had their picture taken with James after the concert, but I had already paid for a second one on Sunday and didn’t want to spend more money on it.
Love Hearts event, Sunday Feb 7

When we arrived, they just started handing out yellow plastic bracelets for everyone and told us our table number. The four of us were at four different tables, but I had some really nice people sitting with me.
Everyone found some James badges, a pocket mirror with James on the back, some Valentine’s candy and a fake rose at her seat as well as a quiz.
Right at the beginning was the photo shoot, and as you can see above my photos turned out great, I’m amazed after the bad photo last time. James was absolutely lovely to me, said I looked really nice in my dress with the corset. And as I asked him to do something different than the standard arm-around-shoulder pose he immediately agreed.
After the photo shoots, there was a play called ‘Love Letters’, but we were not allowed to take photos then to avoid distraction for the other guests. The play was great and really intense – at the end it was so sad that James was crying on stage.

After a short break, James appeared again for the Q&A – now dressed in his favourite green shirt and jeans. At least we assume that it is his one of his favourites, as he has already worn it at Hallowhedon.
The Q&A was interesting as always, but I really don’t remember everything that has been said. I got to ask a question too and it was if he would consider being Captain John again in Torchwood or Torchwood US. He said he’d love to and he would do anything with Russel T. Davies as a producer – but they hadn’t asked him yet. He knew that Russel was in LA currently and told us to tell him to call James. I couldn’t resist and shouted back that I didn’t have his number – I got rewarded with a laugh from James.

Finally, autograph session where I wanted to give two pairs of handknit gloves to James – one is for his son Sullivan. I had asked him at Hallowhedon if he’d like to receive handknit fingerless gloves and he answered that he loved them and so did his son who might just steal them. So I did two pair and packed them in a nice gift bag along with a letter. He seemed to really like them and I just hope they’ll fit.
I got my signature in the Torchwood S2 DVD box and asked him to write something Captain John would say. He wrote NICE!! and said that’s what he thinks fits best for John.
But to be honest, something was wrong that day with James – he was a lot more relaxed at Hallowhedon, despite being in pain. I just hope it was nothing a fan did, because I don’t want him to stop doing those events just because someone didn’t respect his limits. But it might have been something else – I’ve heard a few things from different people, but didn’t see anything myself. So I really have no idea, just hope everything is okay now.
Don’t get me wrong, James was still totally nice to me and everyone else (as far as I know), he just seemed tense and didn’t joke around as much as he did at Hallowhedon.

We went to a nearby pub for dinner with a few girls and chatted for a while before going back to the Tabernacle for the concert. Some songs were the same, but he did play some songs we didn’t get to hear the night before. And again, he didn’t talk or joke as much as the day before and seemed in a rather dark mood.
The concert ended after just a little more than 30 minutes as obviously his hand hurt because of all the autographs and he couldn’t play the guitar any more.
So we just sat down in the bar at the Tabernacle with some other fans and chatted until they closed at 10 pm.
That’s all from me for now, if you want to see more photos of the event just go to my flickr page
