List Allergies/Allergens to Cats/Smoke/Anything else? I can’t wear wool or mohair next to my skin and am allergic to cat hair. I can knit with wool, but not with mohair
Do you have pets? If so, what kind? none
If you have pets, can you keep their fluffies out of your handmade/yarn? see above
If you or anyone in your household smokes inside/outside? no smokers here
Can you keep the smoke out of your work/yarn? see above
Anyone here you’ve swapped with (sent to or received from) before? I received from unionjgirl in the Winter Madness swap
Please be very specific as to your wishes, color preferences etc. indicating if you do, or do not, want a specific item, that your spoilee may believe satisfies your theme criteria. Theme interpretations can sometimes be difficult to narrow down if your spoilee is not 100% familiar with your preferences. The idea is for your spoiler to be able to create a box that you desire. If anyone has questions as to spoilee’s wishes, let me know and I can make further inquiries.
Do you have shipping preferences/additional mailing/delivery instructions that your partner had better know about, or if you may intend to change address ?no
Favorite yarns: fingering to worsted weight with no wool
Favorite fibers: alpaca, silk – but cotton/bamboo blends are fine too, I’m not a yarn snob
Favorite colors: black, purple, red – generally jewel tones
Snack preferences – salty/sweet? I like both, just no liquorice
Edible flavor preferences? no idea
Fragrance preferences? none, please. I have asthma and some fragrances cause asthma attacks. Haven’t been able to narrow it down yet. Artificial ones are worse than natural ones
Other favorite things that you wish to divulge: Have a look at my blog, I’ve compiled everything relevant for swaps there and will update with questionnaires from previous swaps
Least favorite fibers: 100 % acrylic (blends are fine), mohair (mohair because of allergies)
Least favorite colors: pink, pastels
Other least favorite things/have enough of: can’t think of anything right now
Least favorite Snack preferences – salty/sweet? Liquorice
Least favorite Edible flavor preferences? artificial vanilla or fruit flavours
Least favorite Fragrance preferences? see above, please no scented items for me
Tea or Coffee? Coffee: coffee maker, single cup cone, or french press or iced? Tea: pot, or cup, loose or bag..or iced? I love both… for coffee, I have a French Press and a single cup coffee maker that uses pads. My tea can be loose or in a bag, I don’t really care, sometimes I brew a cup or a pot, really depends. Don’t really need another cup, though. I like both my coffee and tea flavoured or unflavoured, for tea the only thing I don’t really like is green tea and my absolute favourite is Earl Grey.
Do you knit/crochet/spin/weave/something else crafty? Well, I am learning how to spin with a drop spindle, but lack time to do it. I make stitch markers, play with polymer clay, sometimes make cards, can do tablet weaving, knit, spin, sew… it’s quite a list.
Which number post in the Wish List thread is yours? If you haven’t made one yet, please post here and make sure it is up to date. It is #117 and I’ll update it later today
Do you have any wishlists at any online stores (link here)? They are all linked on my blog and will be updated later with things relevant to this swap
Favorite Quote(s) Double, double toil and trouble – Fire burn, and cauldron bubble
Favorite Play(s) of those that I have seen, Hamlet
Favorite Sonnet(s) don’t have one
Favorite Character(s) none
Can you think of anything else your partner should know about any special wishes for this swap? Everything else should be covered on my blog, if not please ask or tell a mod to ask
Have you read the rules page and the rules thread? Of course
Do you understand that it is mandatory (at the very minimum) to check in to this thread on the required dates listed at the top of this thread? Yes
Do you understand that it is mandatory to post “Thank You” (in the thank you thread) upon receipt of your package? Yes
Do you understand that it is mandatory to, PM to me your Delivery Confirmation # or Customs Form number upon shipping? Yes
Do you know what you will need to do if you are unable to complete this swap and what will happen to your ability to swap with us in the future if you do not follow some/any/all of the rules? Yes, if I’m unable to complete the swap I’ll PM you, and if I don’t follow the rules I might be unable to swap here in future
anyone living with you that should be considered when spoiling you? My 7 year old boy loves to find a small toy or some candy that’s just for him
any food allergies you didn’t mention yet fish, shellfish and raw apples – not sure if I mentioned them yet, but don’t think they are too important for this swap
jewelry, what do you wear? Give me measurements, please, if needed I like necklaces of all kinds of lengths, from choker to very long. Bracelets are fine too, as are earrings. Silver tones are preferred, if other metal tones, please not shiny, I prefer antiqued looking. Hair things are welcome too, my hair is past my shoulders so I can always do with something to put it up. Measurements are all onmy blog
nail polish and decorative cosmetics? If you can find polish to fit in with the theme, I’d love to receive some. Same goes for eye shadows – see my preferred and least fav colours to get an idea. Pretty much everything besides pink and pastels will find a use.
What kind of handmade would you prefer to receive? Anything particularly Shakespeare that has come to mind as you think about this swap? I like pretty much all kinds of handmade items… as long as you can tie it in with Shakespeare or (if it’s clothing) it fits in the era, I’m sure I’ll love it. For wearables things that can be used every day are just as welcome as costume items. Amigurumi tend to be ‘stolen’ by a certain little boy who thinks that I don’t need ‘toys’ any more because I’m grown up eyeroll Well… probably something purely decorative to place in my apartment wouldn’t be too good – I don’t have much space and way too much clutter already. If it goes on a wall, it should be small-ish.
Shakespeare was a writer – so how about writing supplies? Notebook, pen, dip pen? Don’t need another notebook, but a nice fountain pen or dip pen would be appreciated
Do you like Futurama? Or any other geeky things? Yes, it’s been a while since I watched Futurama, though. Other geeky things, hmm, what can I think of: Firefly, Buffy, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Start Trek, Star Wars, Steampunk things… I’m pretty much a scifi/fantasy geek
Do you like/wear shawls? How about belts? like and wear both
Thoughts on spicy things? How about nuts (pecans, etc.)? Anything from Texas you’re particularly interested in? I like spicy things or spice mixes that might be hard to get in Germany – which is pretty much all from the US… Nuts, especially peanuts and cashews are great, everything with peanut butter is most welcome, my son loves it too. Can’t think of anything special from Texas, but I always like when there’s something from the area where my spoiler lives
Question for everyone – I am British – are they are British treats you would love to receive or love to try? Where should I start? Treacle Toffees, Mint Humbugs, shortbread, Jammy Dodgers, Jelly Babies, squash (especially blackcurrant)… if I forgot anything, it should be mentioned on my blog
How would you characterize your style? Goth – from jeans and shirt/sweater for every day wear to frilly, lacy things, think Elegant Gothic Lolita or Elegant Gothic Aristocrat
What commercial establishments do you patronize or would like to patronize for your clothes and accessories? If I had the money, probably not Primark, H&M and similar ones LOL I love charity stores and other opportunities to buy vintage things, there are sometimes amazing clothes for good prices
Are there preferred materials, metals, stones, styles, etc. which you adore or despise? As I wear a lot of black, I prefer silver toned metals. As for style, everything from simple to playful works, depending on what I wear
When you aren’t knitting or reading Shakespeare, how do you and/or how would you like to spend your time? I read, love music, meet with friends and love to travel – unfortunately money is in the way of travelling so it mostly is trips to visit friends in the UK that I can afford at the moment. I like to dress up and go out, to dance, to meet people – and fancy dress parties are especially fun.
Are you a homebody or do you want to be on the town or in the great outdoors? Not so much the outdoorsy type, but I love to go to places, see things, meet people – even if I didn’t know them before. I just like to get to know new things
If you had to chose two colours for a wearable item, which would be your favourite combination? For me it’s black or charcoal with red, purple or other jewel tones or black and white. If it goes in the steampunk direction, probably a dark-ish warm brown with any of the above colours that matches the brown
If you ran into me on the street I would be wearing black jeans or a black wide skirt (depending on the season), with a black, red or purple tee/longsleeve/sweater, probably a red or purple shawl as colour accent
Gloves, mittens, or fingerless mitts? I like all – but don’t have handmade gloves or mittens yet, as they would have to be made from alpaca, cashmere or some such, without a trace of sheep
bust all my measurements are on my blog, I’d say it’s medium. Ease depends on the item, I wear both, depending on the style
Talking about stitchmarkers, do you need any, what style do you prefer? I don’t ‘need’ any, but who can have too many pretty things? Not me, that’s for certain… I don’t like when they are too dangly, for knitting I prefer the ones with loops of tiger tail that fit on most needles. For crochet they should close, or I tend to lose them when I pack my WIP away or take it with me
Would you want a key chain? if you think I’ll really like it. I don’t need a new one, but am not averse to the idea either
Most of us had a class about Shakespeare – what was your favorite class or favorite paper you wrote about him/his work? I never had one, sorry
What kind of people are your favorite? ehm… not sure what to say here… I like pretty much all kinds of people, except for those that behave like idiots and don’t respect other people. Best of all I like creative and open minded people
Are there any symbols that you particularly associate with your favourite Shakespeare play that you’d like to be included in your package? Well, when you make it about Hamlet, there just has to be something with a skull… otherwise I can’t think of anything specific
What do you think about including aspects of the Elizabethan age into your package? That sounds good
