My name is Sarah, I live in North Wales with my husband, 2 cats and a dog. I run a small online business called Welshmillie’s Whimsies. Welshmillie’s Whimsies came about because I love crafting. I got into making small clay items, usually animals and started to have so many I didn’t know what to do with them. I started looking into the online community and found that there were places to sell handmade goods in a safe environment.
I set up my store on Etsy about 3 years ago. Since then I have sold quite a few stitch markers and requested custom pieces. I really enjoy the freedom that crafting brings. You might start off with a lump of yellow clay, but that can turn into a set of flowers, rubber ducks or even a little sunshine.
My favourite pieces in the store at the moment are the lions and the sea lions. These are my smallest, yet most detailed pieces. I really love the delicacy of the sea lion and I adore the look on the little lion’s face.
IÂ use a lot of things for inspirations. At the moment we have a circus in town, so I have been using traditional idea’s of the circus to inspire me. With lion tamers, the strong man and dancing bear idea’s floating through I don’t know when I am going to have the time to fit them all in!
