Auch wenn es im Moment zu heiss ist um ihn zu tragen, mein Revontuli (pdf auf deutsch) ist fertig geworden. Relativ klein, da aus Lace-Garn und ich habe leider kurz vor Ende einen Fehler eingebaut, den ich nicht finden konnte. Also hatte ich nicht die Möglichkeit einfach einen oder zwei Mustersätze mehr zu stricken. Aber gerade für den Sommer ist so ein kleines Tuch toll, es nimmt nicht viel Platz weg in der Tasche und wärmt trotzdem, wenn es abends kühler wird. Das Garn ist Schoppel Lace-Zauberball in Farbe Brombeere.
Der Revontuli ist sehr einfach zu stricken, fast schon perfekt zum Fernsehstricken, war also ein netter Einstieg für mich ins Arbeiten mit Lace-Garn. Jetzt habe ich fast noch ein halbes Knäuel von dem Garn übrig und werde mir wohl ein anderes, kleines Projekt suchen um das Garn aufzubrauchen.

Even if it is too hot to wear it right now, my Revontuli (pdf in English) is done. Rather small, as I made it with lace weight yarn and somehow I managed to make a mistake right towards the which I couldn’t figure out. So I couldn’t just add a pattern repeat or two to make it bigger. But for summer such a small shawl is great, it doesn’t need much space in your purse, but it still keeps you warm in the evenings when it cools down. Yarn is Schoppel Lace Zauberball in colour Brombeere.
It’s very easy to knit a Revontuli, it’s almost perfect for TV knitting – so it was a nice introduction into using lace weight yarn for me. Now I have almost half a skein of the yarn left, so I need to find another small project to use it up.

Habe ich schonmal erwähnt, dass ich Tücher liebe? Seit ich mein erstes vor ca einem Jahr gestrickt habe, kann ich nicht genug davon kriegen, ich trage sie furchtbar gern. Als ich mir das ebook “Whimsical Little Knits 2″ von Ysolda Teague gekauft habe, habe ich mich sofort in dieses Tuch verliebt, es heisst Damson (Ravelry Link). Gestrickt habe ich es aus naturfarbenem Alpaca Garn (Georges Picaud Alpaga 5) mit 3,5 mm Nadeln, deshalb ist es etwas größer geworden als das Original. Verbraucht habe ich nicht ganz 200 g, also 480 m davon und als das Tuch fertig war, habe ich es mit Luvotex Wollfarbe gefärbt.

Did I ever mention that I love shawls? Ever since I knit my first one about a year ago, I can’t get enough of them, I just love to wear them. And as I bought the ebook “Whimsical Little Knits 2″ by Ysolda Teague, I fell in love with this shawl called Damson (Ravelry Link). I’ve knit it with a natural coloured alpaca yarn (Georges Picaud Alpaga 5) using 3.5 mm needles, so it ended up a bit larger than intended in the pattern. I used about 200 g / 480 m of it and once the shawl was finished, I dyed it with Luvotex wool dyes.
Durch seine Form bleibt das Tuch prima über den Schultern, aber man kann es auch als Schal tragen da es nicht so groß ist. Und natürlich sieht es noch besser aus, wenn man es mit einer schönen Schalnadel verschließt, es gibt also wirklich viele Möglichkeiten dieses Tuch zu tragen.

Due to it’s shape, the shawl stays perfectly on your shoulders, but it can be worn as a scarf as well as it isn’t so big. And of course it looks even better when worn with a beautiful shawl pin. As you can see, there are a lot of options how to wear this shawl.
